The Great British Breakfast with Halal Beef Bacon

  • 1-2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 halal sausages
  • 3 rashers of halal beef bacon
  • 2 tomatoes
  • Handful of button or 2 field mushrooms
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 slices of white bread
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil


  1. In a small saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and cook the tomatoes on a low heat. Heat the grill and place the mushrooms under it with the remaining butter on top.

  2. At the same time, grill the halal sausages for 3-5 minutes. Then turn the halal sausages and mushrooms over and cook for another 3-5 minutes. At this point place the halal beef bacon on the grill turning once and cook to desired taste.

  3. Once the mushrooms, halal sausages and halal beef bacon are all cooked, turn the grill off and place the cooked food on to a plate under the grill to keep warm.

  4. Turn over the tomatoes and sprinkle with a little salt and continue to cook on a low heat. Heat 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large frying pan and fry the bread on both sides until golden brown. Drain off on a kitchen towel.

  5. Break the eggs into the same pan and cook on a low heat.

  6. Serve the eggs on the fried bread with the halal sausages, halal beef bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes. Serve with mug of tea.

  7. You can also add baked beans, hash browns and whatever else you fancy.
